After Massone and Diretta Gobbi yesterday we felt like resting. Since Matteo was up for leading Katarina and I were happy to follow him on Spigolo Sud, the rightmost route in Laghel, next to Diretta Gobbi, with spectacular views of the castle and of the Sarca valley. After the first pitch we bumped into two of Matteos's friends from Padova who had climbed Cinque Stagioni, see link on the side, and were now finishing the day with Spigolo Sud to make it all the way to the top. After topping out we walked down and went to check out the castle in Arco. Impressive place to put a castle, and easy to defend until they invented cannons that blasted the castle into ruins from neighboring hills. But it lasted for more than half a millenium. Later in the afternoon we enjoyed bruschettas at Matteo's favorite climbing cafe next to the church in Arco, and Barbara cooked for us in the evening: steaks with a yummy sauce with weird little things on the side (not pasta, not potatoes, nobody knows exactly what it was).
