February 2006: Uploaded my Google Earth kmz files.
January 2006: Added book review for Erich Fromm's Haben oder Sein.
April 2005: I started a weblog 'cos it is hard to update the website. You have to change file, upload to server, check if it is correct etc. etc. A weblog is a lot easier to note daily activity. So, i will put news to my weblog. This site will contain more serious stuff but will be updated less frequently.
March 2005: A new section is on its way: "words and expressions i would like to use". It's an effort to enrich my English and Turkish usage. I guess human language has similarities to programming languages. Some "expressions" or "functions" are more efficient than others in that they allow to say a lot with few...or at least express in a more elegant way.
March 2005: Major update waiting for a long time has been started. Hurray! :P
March 2005: Went skiing in Kartalkaya/Bolu. I can say that i am an intermediate skier now ;)
March 2005: Set my new swimming record: 2 km in 1 hour and 45 minutes (1500 m freestyle, 500 m frog). That's remarkable if you consider that i couldn't swim a lousy 15 m's a year ago! Now i will concentrate on speed. New milestone: 1500 m's in less than 1 hour.
August-September 2004: Went to AIAA conference in USA and then to a NATO fire appreciation kernel meeting in the Netherlands. See photo page for two pics.
July 2004: Update on swimming: I finally managed to swim 50 m without a break. I guess i am now in peace with water! Unfortunately, the swimming pool is closed till September :(
February 2004: Started fitness/weight training. Aim: to be able to make a slam dunk this summer. Let's see...
February 2004: Did skiing in Kartalkaya/Bolu. It is one of both scariest and exiting things I have ever done! A must do.
February 2004: Started learning the complicated details of technical swimming from my dear friend Didem. I hope one day I can cross that damn 50 m mark! 1-2-3 breathe 1-2-3 breathe...
February 2004: Added unit vector differentiation in spherical coordinates link to Interesting problems page. February 2004: Added a funny quote about people who are not well versed with maths to Humor page. By the way, we are in "Kurban Bayram", i.e. religious Islamic festival of sacrifices. January 2004: Added a definition of "Efendilik Principle" under "What is life, what makes it valuable and meaningful" heading in Thoughts page.December 2003: I have been to Brussels in Belgium for a business related meeting in the Royal Military Academy. Nice city with interesting old buildings. I was slightly disappointed with the "Manneken de Pis" (sculpture of a little boy pissing which can be seen on almost every postcard about Brussels). I expected something very original which turned out to be a little insignificant thing.
