Each of Jadeite's schemes is thwarted by Sailor Moon, and with each failure, Beryl's patience diminishes. Finally, she gives Jadeite an ultimatum: defeat the Sailor Scouts or be banished to eternal slumber. Jadeite proceeds to project a gigantic image of himself in the Tokyo night sky, challenging the Sailor Scouts to fight him at the Haneda Airport. If they would refuse, Jadeite would burn Tokyo to the ground. With no better choice, Serena, Amy, and Rei go to the airport (Jadeite even arranges for a monorail to take them there, isn't that sweet?). Upon arriving, the three girls are attacked by beings disguised as policemen made of living mud. This forces them to transform, thus revealing to Jadeite the identities of Sailor Moon, Mercury, and Mars. Jadeite then uses his powers to send airplanes to attack the Sailor Scouts, but this scheme is halted by Tuxedo Mask whom Jadeite focuses his attention on next. The two of them plunge into the sea and fight each other. In the end, Jadeite emerges but Tuxedo Mask does not.
Once again, Jadeite attacks the Sailor Scouts. But Sailor Mars stuns the Dark General by pinning an ofuda (anti-evli scroll) on his back. Disoriented, Jadeite narrowly escapes Sailor Moon's tiara and is nearly run down by one of his own planes. Jadeite finally gives in and retreats to the Negaverse. He informs Queen Beryl of the identities of the Scouts, but Beryl does not believe him. Indeed, she thinks that Jadeite is merely making another one of his grandiose claims. Enfuriated, Queen Beryl seals Jadeite inside of a gigantic crystal, where he is condemned to sleep for all eternity.
