Eng. JOHN & JANE had eight children: Emma,WILLIAM HENRY,Harry John,Herbert James,Minnie Evelyn,Edith Mary,Albert James and George French. JOHN was a Porter at Reigate Railroad Station, late in life he was a Gardener. He was 14 years Verger at ST. Marks Church in Reigate. JOHN died 24 Dec 1906, JANE died 1 Feb 1884, both are buried at St. Mary Moydolene Church, Chart Lane,Reigate,Surrey,Eng. Emma & Herbert died very young. Minnie was a Nurse and died 5 Feb 1939. Harry was a Photographer. Harry Married Elizabeth Boggis 20 Jan 1894. They had two children: Mary & Cyril. Harry owned French & Co. a Photo Studio located at Wallington,Surrey. Harry was also Chief Fireman of Wallington Fire Brigade. Harry died in 1925. Albert married Florence Gram. Albert was a Baker and died 19 May 1936. Edith came to the USA 10 Oct 1895. She married Alfred Wagnell also of England 4 Mar 1896 at Brooklyn,NY. He was a Coachmen for the Pratt family of Long Island,NY. While living at Glen Cove,NY Edith & Alfred had six children Dorothy,Sybil,Alfred,Ruby,Florence,Bertha. Edith died 1 Aug 1965. George came to the USA 19 Sept 1906. He was a Chauffeur for the Whitney family of Long Island,NY. He married Violet Hookham Born 19 Feb 1888,Stow-on-the Wold,Glovcester,Eng on 9 April 1912. While living at Glen Cove,NY they had Children:Violet,Doris,Ivy,Edna,George and Howard. George died 21 July 1960

WILLIAM was a Photographer. He worked at Travers & Co. The family lived at East Ham,Essex,Eng. Later at Brisham,Devon,Eng before leaving for the USA with there two children: Ivy Lillian b/27 Apr 1894 Walthampton,Essex,Eng and EDMUND WILLIAM b/27 Aug 1896 Upton Park,Essex,Eng. Another son Cecil died very young perhaps at birth?
The KEMPSELL's left Southampton,Eng. 21 Apr 1907 on ship S.S. Celtic arriving Ellis Island 1 May 1907. After living with his B-I-L & Sister Alfred & Edith Wagnall, Brooklyn,NY for a short time they moved to White Plains and Tuckahoe,NY area where son George John was born 29 Mar 1910. The KEMPSELL's made their final move to Scranton,Lack,PA August 1911. |
