| WILLIAM COCKERTON was born 6 April 1746 at Weston Colville,Camb,Eng. to JONATHAN COCKERTON & MARY. WILLIAM married CATHARINE. abt 1773 at Weston Colville,Camb,Eng. Where children: John b/ 1 Jan 1774-Catherine b/ 8 Dec 1777 and THOMAS b/2 May 1779. WILLIAM died 8 Jan 1829 at Weston Colville and Catherine d/ 18 Mar 1780. THOMAS COCKERTON was first married abt 1811 to Mary Taylor. THOMAS & Mary had three children: Catharine b/ 20 Nov 1812, Mary b/ 8 Jan 1814 and Caroline b/ 1 Jun 1816 all at Weston Colville,Camb,Eng. Wife Mary died. THOMAS was remarried on 28 Oct 1818 to SARAH BOWYER b/18 Jan 1795 Weston Colville to EDMUND & MARY BROWN BOWYER. THOMAS & SARAH had seven children: Caroline b/26 Sept 1819,Martha Eliz. b/10 June 1821, Sarah Ann b/26 Oct 1823, William b/20 July 1826, Mahala b/25 Dec 1828, JOHN b/24 July 1831 and Thomas William b/16 Feb 1834-d/1855 Ballarat,Vic,AUST. all children were born at Weston Colville,Camb,Eng. THOMAS was a Farmer. THOMAS died 18 Oct 1841 at Weston Colville. JOHN COCKERTON was married at Great Shelford,Camb,Eng. on 18 July 1852 to LETITIA MARY CAMBRIDGE b/26 Feb 1837 at Stapleford,Camb,Eng to JOHN & MARY EAST CAMBRIDGE. JOHN was a Master Butcher. Soon after JOHN & LETITIA were married they left for Ballarat,Victoria,Australia. Aboard Ship Malbrough arriving in Australia November 1852. The COCKERTON settle in the Gold Mining Camps at Ballarat, Victoria. Where they started their family:John b/1854-d/1855, Ann Cambridge b/1855, I believe married John Atwell, Anne Edgar B/1855-d/1861, John Thomas b/1857-d/1858, Letitia b/1858,, Mahalia b/1860. Mahalia married Frank Barrett 1893 at Wandsworth,London,Eng. Mahalia and Frank Children: Dorothy B/1896 . Basil B/1899,Thomas Frank b.1902 both at Upper Tooting,London,Eng. Frank was a Architect. Thomas John b/8 Apr 1861. Between late 1861 -62 the family returned to England. JOHN opened a Butcher Shop at 11 Montpelier St,Knightbridge,Middlesex,London,Eng. After arriving back to England JOHN & LETITIA had children: John Richard R. b/1863 Brompton he married Florence Holly Robinson abt 1885. John was a Butcher also. John & Florence had children:Hollie b/1887 Bromley,Kent,Eng.,Lilian Gladys B/1889 Bromley, John b/1892 Gipsy Hill, Leslie b/1896 Norwood and Audrey B/1900 Norwood. Annie Letitia b/1865 Brompton. Married Edward West in 1891 Pancras,London Sarah Anne b/1867 Brompton. Was Married abt 1893 to William Chalmers Mackay. William & Sarah had children: Thomas,B/1895 Liverpool,Eng, John B/1896 Liverpool,Eng. and Frederick Chalmer b/1903 Poulton-Le-Fylde, William & Sarah traveled to the USA 5 July 1921 to visit his Brother Robert in NJ and her Sister JULIA KEMPSELL at Scranton,PA. William was a Theatre Manager.William Bowyer b/1868,Married Minnie Lamb,Their children, Reginald b/1898,Majorie b/1900,Ivy b/1899 Constance b/1901,Jack b/1904Tom Bowyer b/1905. Emily Matilda b/1870 and JULIA ELIZA COCKERTON b/ 14 July 1872 Knightbridge,Middlesex,London. JULIA was married to WILLIAM HENRY KEMPSELL on 6 May 1891. LETITIA died after 1891, She was living at Battersea,London,UK NOTE-The Butcher Shop was located at 13 Montpelier St. Knightbridge, The Shop is now a Italian Restruants (Montpeliano) Owned my Antonio Trapani .
