Description |
| Tent |
One spare, just for incase. |
| Mosquito Tent |
Essentially a mosquito net with a
dome tent structure and a floor. Just as effective at
keeping mosquitoes in or out... hopefully out. |
| Vehicle awning |
We've had a 3*3 metre awning made-up
and attached to the side of the Land Rover. Should provide
sufficient cover for shade and rain. It has Velcro along
the sides and sheets of shadecloth that attach, to make
a relatively mozzie proof enclosure. |
| Gas bottles *2 |
Rob has a gas lamp and cooker from
Oz. The Oz gas connections are different to the South
African, so we've had to have an adapter made up Not sure
what the gas fittings (for gas refills) are going to be
in Northern Africa yet. Will be interesting. |
| Gas cooker and lamp |
Not much fire wood along the Skeleton
Coast. |
| Cooking and eating equipment. |
Various pots and pans, a cutlery set
and other necessary cooking items. The eating equipment
mainly consists of hands and mouths. |
| Camping chairs |
Not completely necessary but does
make lounging around the campfire much more enjoyable. |
| Camp beds and sleeping
mats |
We have a combination of camp beds
and sleeping mats. The camp beds will be helpful in avoiding
snakes/scorpions and other skulking night creatures. Should
we do any overnight hikes, the sleeping mats can be used. |
| Torches and florescent
lights |
We have a plethora of lighting equipment
- handheld spotlights, torches, florescent lights, etc. |
