We proved that rocks can read, forecast their zodiacs, eat, and know the birds and the bees among other things. WE ALSO KNOW WE PROVED SHIRLEYS FORECAST WRONG TONITE she forecasted three games and we took it in two. Ribot started off the night with vcandrews categories rockers rampages through the category with a nine to one lead and never let up in game one. Game two proved interesting Ribot tried to sweep both teams by throwing Movies with colorful titles, most of the movies were before our time LOL but wolf-rocker saved us from a bot sweep by scoring. Rockers lead 2-0 at this point and Advertising Mascots comes up (in case your wondering no underdog was not there :( ) Rockers take a nine to three lead and again never let up on the raiders. We pummeled through card occasions things associated with denver and people, places and things associated with! high school taking game two 31-23. Quite a few new categories came out tonight. Songs by Phish and Frank Zappa were 2 of them and swept by the LOL's. (Who listens to those groups, or should I say who admits to listening to those groups?? hehe) The Rats almost made a comeback in Game 1. At least we had one highlite.....The first cat of the first game , our MVP, Cragio got 5 answers in the characters from Tolkin cat. Then the rout was on. Baby shower gifts pulled the Wonders even. radio formats put them ahead to stay. The second game the Wonders pulled ahead on the first cat 5-0. Then libra, out of the kindness of her dear heart, lost track of what team she was on and scored points for us in the Harold Robbins book cat. WTG LIBRA!!!! (Game3) none (MVP) TEAM 7~LOL~7 (roll_call) --- Musicluvr, flamepillar, SapphirEM, EMMA3, Jana22, SinginBob, Kitten808, lightdancer, vrooomblonde, Lauree31, MilleniumLOL --- (commentary) --- I can't believe it I'm still shakin' all over! Just goes to show ya, when the LOLers have a turnout like this, there's no stopping them! In a game with a strangely high occurence of Equality Rounds and not a Champ Round for miles, we LOLers danced and sung our way to a two-game victory over a seemingly unbeatable team, the Rats! In game one, we started off with Phish songs, which SinginBob and I were able to start our 4-0 lead thanks to our great taste in music. Hehe. Things associated with a newspaper came next and we had another great round, keeping our lead 9-4. Medicines that start with A was next and I didn't score a one! Yet I can get six on Z medicines? Well of course there's obviously not a lot of Z medicines out there, and some of these A ones were actually recognizable to the general population. LOLers increased our lead to 13-6 and we were gonna need it too! The next round was expressions using "Paper" each team scored five and it was lookin' good! 18-11 LOLers as we headed into tree types. The Ratties pulled their collective slobber together and took six answers to our four, cutting our lead by two at 22-17. On R.E.M. songs, they did the same thing, cutting our lead even more, to 26-23! By now it was apparent to us that we had to take it now or never, so we drew our guns and gave! it all we had on the old West category, and rode off into the sunset with a 31-28 victory! The second game went kind of the same way. In the first round, we took a 4-2 lead on things that are buttered, which was an Equality Round. That really hurt the Rats I think. LOLers did a sweep on Frank Zappa songs and I just kind of stood off to the side like "Umm, I don't know them!" LOL well we, or should I say THEY, took five points to make the score 9-2. The Rats were hungry like the wolf and saved their prayers for the Duran Duran cat, demonstrating the RattReflex cutting our lead to 12-9. The LOLers took back a couple leading points in the Military Terms cat, another Equality round that robbed the Rats of a lot of possible points again. Footwear was a dangerously easy cat for the Rats to zoom in and close the gap on us, but fortunately SapphirEM dropped in just in time and took two big ones on this round, helping us to keep ahead at 22-15! The Rats did well on things associated with Denver, moving in at 19 to our 23. But the LOLers held together in perhaps the m! ost important round, Sharon Stone movies (meaning the ROUND was important not the category) and keeping our lead as we hit the red zone, 26-22. Finally, we finished out with a Double Pointer a good chance for the Rats to sneak up on us, but the cat, being Palindromes of Four or More Letters, was a LOLer friendly one and we stole the show and won 40-28!!!! What a welcome for our two new teamies: Keycat and MoonBaby!! And what a sweet reward for all the regulars who have struggled all season and have never given up!! The SeXy WiGgLiNg WoNdErS came out in force today with almost perfect attendance. Poor ShelCaptain wasn't able to make the game and enjoy our victory, but I know she's proud of us anyway!! We started off with Tolkein Characters and I just sat back and watched while my teamies typed away. W we took the lead with that cat 5 - 1. The 6Pack tied it up 6-6 with Baby Shower Gifts in the next cat. The wonders pulled together for the next few rounds allowing the 6Pack to score 7 points to our 31 points in Radio Formats, Irregular Verbs, Disney Movies, Disney Characters and Types of Stores or Shops. Final Score: 37-13 After winning our first game in a very very long time, we kept the momentum going and held the 6Pack back through all of Game 2 again stealing all the points and not letting the packers score too many points. Cats included: Similies containing As or A, Famous Thomas's, Harold Robbins Books, Inventions by Edison, Famous Rivers and Things found on a dashboard. Final Score: Unkown - I was so excited that we won that I forgot to write down the final score! This was a big win for the Wonders.
