The first game was close the whole way with the raiders holding a slim lead. The Lizards came back and it was 29-28 going into the last cat. The game ended 33-32 for the Lizards. The second game was just as close tied at 17-17. The raiders pulled out the game by demonstrating their knowledge of french painters winning 30-24. Raiders started disappearing in game 3 as we held an early lead. The lizards came back on the doonesbury category, taking the lead 18-15. After Michael Caine and tolkein cats went by the game was set for a dramatic finish as the score was 23-24. The rockers rumbled in the first game leading the way all the way through. Nite-Rocker saved our little rock hineys with one of those silly blank categories, most of us were on fish and she was on murder mysteries, thank heavens. Rockes continued to sweep thru the first game. We saw some awesome action from every rocker present . (Commentary) Game 1 turned out to be quite a nail biter, with our scores staying very close throughout. We thought we were almost "Scooby snacks" when the Sixers almost swept the Scooby doo category. But we came back strong with "halloween things"(thanks to this great inspirational page Ev!) This brought us to a tied game of 31-31! The Rat Pack soared to the win with the last category of Nicolas Cage movies. Game 2 was not so kind to the Sixers. Us Rats decided to go for the big win and started for it right out the gate! Game 1 started out with the Rat-Pack taking the lead immediately, the first 2 rounds were theirs, we didn't score a single point. Scooby-Doo proved to be our best friend giving us 7 points to their 15. We closed the gap a bit with our knowledge of Christian Slater flicks(10-17). Then Sly Stallone movies came, and our scores were 16-21 Rats. We made a huge comeback with a tie (31-31)...Bot was in a movie-going mood tonight so for the tie-breaker he gave us Nicholas Cage films (Have you ever noticed how the patch of hair on Nichoas Cage's chest looks like and eagle in the movie Valley Girl?)...Just an observation! I am here to repent. I have done a horrible thing. I have allowed a portion of my heart to be untrue to my own Ridic Team, the LOLers. Why? Oh, I guess I just felt sorry for the team we were playing against. Yeah, I know it was no excuse. Well, I told them "I wouldn't mind losing as much tonight" because ... was it true? .. Well, um, yeah, sort of. I called up Dionne Warwick to get some answers and she read my palms over the phone and yes it was a jinx. Yeah, they beat us. They took an enormous lead on us 23-6 in a double pointer and went on to beat us 31-13. Then, the second game we fought against the Jinx..holding their lead to only 3 points 16-13 after the Monopoly cat, but it was too much, Father! The Wonders won their first game of the season!! It was an exciting game from the first cat - Cable TV Networks where we took an early lead of 7 - 2 Libra scored 4 of our 7 points - Go Libra. The second Cat, Broadway Musicals, was a double point round and we increased our lead to 23 - 6. We showed our knowledge of Countries that have coastlines and World Cup Countries and won the 1st game 31 -13. The LOLS fought back, hard, in the 2nd game and stayed only a few points behing in the first few cats: Country male singers, Things in a woman's purse and things associated with monopoly. We increased our lead to 20 -15 with things associated with soccer and then pulled ahead with past and present violinists and common insects. Final score 32-20.
