The unraveling of the information necessary for the creation of a technology or management system related to the ADE soils of Amazonia is a complex task that demands a comprehensive approach. The technical�scientific questions provided in Section 13.4.1 must be answeredin order to fruitfully proceed. These questions indicate that the approach to the investigation of Amazonian ADE soils is necessarily multi- and transdisciplinary. The cooperation of seemingly distant sciences is desirable for a satisfactory characterization of the phenomenon. The disciplines necessarily involved (not necessarily in this order of importance) are anthropology, archeology, biology, botany, ecology, economics, geochemistry, history, pedology, sociology, and soil science.
