May, 2006.
René Harb from Chile sent a link to his website with many photos of the sukhoi construction.
Nice work. It always makes me happy to see that other people are building the sukhoi.
September, 2004. Micah Abel sent me an email and some photos. Here they are:
Thanks Micah.
April, 2003. Daniel from Switzerland signed the guestbook and put a url to his homepage with pictures of slightly larger sukhois based on my design. Take a look at his website, it's got some good photos of the construction process.
April, 2003.
Juanfra from Spain has sent in some photos of his sukhoi during the construction.
September, 2002. Angelo Brousalis, from Greece, has sent me some photos of his almost complete sukhoi. He has promised to send more photos when his sukhoi is finished, so check back later to see them. I also hope to get some specifications of his sukhoi and maybe a report once it has flown.
May, 2002. Hisham Bu Jawdeh, from Lebanon, first emailed me in October 2001 to let me know he was going to start building the sukhoi. Just recently (in may 2002), after finding where my website had moved to, he sent me photos of his completed sukhoi. Here they are for everyone to enjoy... I asked Hisham for the specs for his sukhoi. Here is what he wrote:
It's nice to know someone else's sukhoi came out at the same weight as my own!
March, 2002. Jure Fritz sent me an email on the 18th of March 2002, here is what he said:
Take note that he enlarged his sukhoi (original wingspan=148.9cm, Jure's sukhoi's wingspan=183cm), which will give him substatially more wing area, thereby keeping the wing loading down. So, considering his sukhoi's weight is the same as Valerio's sukhoi and less than Jarmo's sukhoi, it seems that increasing the size of the sukhoi slightly is the way to go. However, it is hard to be sure without knowing more of the details of each sukhoi.
January, 2002. Alex Kolyvanov has started construction of a sukhoi using his laser cut parts. Click the link below (or the image) to take a look at his website and see more construction photos.
December, 2001.
Valerio Tampieri emailed me on the 22nd of December 2001 and said he'd built the sukhoi and that it flew well (in not exactly those words), but that the weight of his was 3.8kg compared to the 3.2kg that I had on the specifications page. I have since updated the specs to include the weight of Jarmo's sukhoi (Valerio's falls between Jarmo's sukhoi and my sukhoi in weight). Valerio has sent me several photos of his sukhoi in different stages of construction, click the link below to see them. It looks like he's also done an outstanding job.
October, 2001. Jarmo Laine, an airline pilot from Finland, has built a sukhoi from my plans. He's the first person that I know of to do so, and he's been kind enough to write a thorough review/essay/email about it and also send some photos of it. Thanks Jarmo, it looks like you've done an awsome job. Follow these links to the review and photos. If you want to get in touch with Jarmo, send me an email and I will give you his email address.
