Ceramic coated overfeed disc has demonstrated superior performance in 2 for 1 twisting applications. It offers significant wear advantages against abrasive yarns. This super-hard coating was designed specifically to extend the wear life of overfeed disc resulting in reduced maintenance coat and more efficient operations.
When the yarn moves at high speeds, their high surface speeds tend to make a groove on the yarn path components.

Fraying or filamentation of yarn takes place as a result of this grooving.

This reduces the tensile strength of the yarn and its value.
This problem is severe while handling synthetic abrasive yarns like acrylic, polypropylene, jute, nylon, rayon, polyester, viscose, aramid, glass fiber, carpet fiber, etc.

Chemically formed ceramic coatings provide more than 2 to 5 times the life as compared to hard chrome plated parts.

Chemically formed ceramic coatings produce an orange peel structure on the metallic parts. This helps the yarn to gently "bounce" against the yarn path surfaces significantly reducing the incidence of contact.

Thin solid ceramic parts prone to breakage can be substituted by ceramic coated metallic parts.
