| Ceramic impregnation for higher corrosion and abrasion resistance |
| Hard chrome plating is hard but porous. It has micro cracks or fissures. Corrosive fluids seep through these fissures and attack the substrate. This debonds the plating. Examples are * Pumps pumping corrosive fluids * Screw parts in PVC moulding In Tech 12 ceramic coating process, the fissures are filled with nano ceramic particles and sealed. This ceramic impregnation increases the corrosion resistance several fold. It also increases the abrasion resistance. |
