Vinca

Botanical Name: Vinca Minor or Major.

Native to India and some other countries, it is a Perennial (permanent) which can be grown in Ground or in Pots. It is very good for ground cover.
Seeding time: Seeding time starts from January after frost and lasts up to September. The general variety of flower reseed itself, however hybrid needs to be seeded. But the general variety is invasive also.
Flowering time:
Flower starts from February end and lasts upto November.
Propagation:  Vinca is grown from seeds, which can be directly sown into Pots or ground. Sow seeds and cover lightly with soil. Space four to six inches apart for hybrid and one feet for other
Care:  Vinca is very easy to grow with little or no care. It is drought resistant and can be grown on any type of soil. It is advisable to grow new plants every year as plants of more than one year produce lesser flowers. Care also be taken as Vinca is invasive also.
Variety: The general flower colors are pink and white however new hybrid variety of scarlet red is also available.
