| CALENDULA Botanical Name: Calendula officinalis Native to Mediterranean Countries It is an Annual which can be grown in Ground or in Pots.Also known as Pot Marigolds. Seeding Time: Seeding time starts from August and lasts upto January Flowering time : Flower starts from November, but full bloom starts from Mid January and lasts upto March end Propagation: Calendula is grown from seeds, which can be directly sown into Pots or ground.Sow seeds early in the season and cover lightly with 1/4" of garden soil. In ground space plants 15" apart. Care: Pick dead blooms to keep the plants neat looking and to encourage new blooms. Your plants will produce large flowers on long stems initially but flower size start decreasing as the time passes, to over come this keep propagating calendula every month from August to December. Variety: Calendulas produce orange, yellow and lemon colored flowers. All colors come in double (Big) and single (small) flower variety. It is advisable to grow double in ground and single in pots.
