Yoga in the
Isle of Nature
Dominica

YOGA AND HEALTH
The following links caught our
interest and support our philosophy of promoting healthy lifestyles.
Yoga Journal - The magazine
Yoga Journal has sustained me through over 20 years of practicing
and teaching yoga. I clearly remember
devouring each issue in the 1980’s in Toronto Canada. Now
in tropical Dominica, it is not easy
to get the magazine but when I do I still devour it cover to cover
and then start again. Yoga Journals
are well read on this island as we pass it around from home to home. Now they
generously offer a free monthly internet newsletter with a wealth of
information. Thank you Yoga Journal. http://yogajournal.com/
Yoga Everywhere, a new yoga
portal to bliss; with breathing exercises, stretches, yoga teachers,
yoga products, yoga vacations, yoga events and more. Explore the many facets
of yoga, guidelines
for beginners, teaching tools to guide you through your day with presence,
creativity and awareness.
Look under Yoga Practice for a lovely series of exercises we can tune into
for a little stretch break
while working on the computer. Sign up for their monthly newsletter, Living
Practice.

Mind, Body and Spirit.
They are devoted to promoting Holistic health and so have compiled a

in both listings. http://www.kevala.co.uk
Desk Top Yoga - To keep your
exercise breaks interesting and help you remember poses you
can do wherever you are check out the following web page. Practiced on a
regular basis these
exercises can help to ease the stress of repetitive activities. http://www.efuse.com/yoga
Yoga Family - This web site has a yoga directory and a
posture series. The page called Getting
Families Started is interesting. I totally agree with their opening
statement. “You are never too out of
shape, too inflexible, too old, or too young to begin your yoga journey.

Yoga Connections - This web site is interesting in its goal to
provide an opportunity for like-minded
people of all ages and backgrounds to
meet and enrich their lives, relationships and parenting
experiences. I like the barter concept. I love the picture of Jessica doing the
yoga with the baby, at
the bottom of the Benefits of Yoga
page. http://www.geocities.com/yogaconnections
As if the possible
benefits of yoga in terms of stress, heart disease, and depression weren't
enough,
there are additional advantages of
yoga, especially for men, says Julio Kuperman, MD,
head of
neurology at St. Agnes Medical Center in Philadelphia and associate professor of neurology at
the
University of Pennsylvania School of
Medicine.
