Further west of Avalanche
Gulch lies Giddy Giddy Gulch on the route toward and above Hidden
Valley. This smaller bowl seems easily negotiated when you first
come into the clearing at it's base, but depending on your speed
and endurance, it can consume hours to ascend.
Here climbers are ascending
Giddy Giddy Gulch during the middle of the afternoon when softened
snow conditions can make for laborious exercise. High camps can
be established at several places nine thousand feet in elevation
or higher between Casaval Ridge and Hidden Valley.
