| The city of Cork is the main city in the southern part of the republic.  Somewhat smaller than Dublin, Cork is (a bit) drier, (a bit) warmer and (a bit) sunnier but not many people visit Ireland to get a tan.   It's folksy and more conservative than Dublin though it is pretty and closely surrouded by those famous green hills. |
18 miles south of Cork is one of the most picturesque towns in Ireland.  Kinsale is a small fishing and tourist town with a natural harbor where one can sightsee via sailboat. Both Cork and Kinsale are known for their excellent jazz festivals in October. Blarney Castle and the Blarney Stone are located in County Cork. The photos below are of Kinsale. |
