Winding roads, beautiful rivers and lakes, castles and counties with names like Limerick, Longford, Kildare and Tipperary.   A drive or train trip through the middle of the country are great ways to discover the less touristy parts of Ireland. |

While the county of Limerick is nice, the city of Limerick is the only city in Ireland I have visited that I don't like.   Stradling the River Shannon, one would think this city would be interesting and pretty. It is neither. |
