Poetry has been around for quite a while, and because of this there are many different styles and aspects to poetry. This website only includes some of them, although if you visit our links section, you will be able to find links to other websites on the Internet for poetry styles, going more in depth about the different aspects of poetry.

Remember, however, that not all poems have to contain any or all of the following elements. The joy of poetry is that it contains quite a bit of free writing, without any limit. There are quite a few famous poems that do not include any of the aspects presented here, while others contain quite a few of them. However you prefer to write, keep in mind that your poetry is your poetry, and no one can tell you how or how not to write.
