Welcome to my poetry website. The topic: Poetry. I have always enjoyed
reading and writing poetry, but never before did I think about creating
a website about it, nor did I have the time.

Poetry is a vast subject to cover. I have tried to cover several
areas on this website. The Poetry Aspects page covers some of
the basic aspects of poetry, such as metaphors,
similes, symbolism, and so on. It also contains examples of poetry
for each aspect that was written by someone in my grade nine class.The
Poet Biographies section has the
biographies of four of the better-known poets, and an example
of their poetry. Student Work has
a collection of work by everyone in my 9th grade class. Ideas
for Poetry gives ideas to anyone on how to get inspiration
for writing their own poems. If something can’t be found on this
page, then there is a small collection of other useful websites
to visit on the Links page. Feel free

As for me, my name is Allison. Even though I was born in Edmonton, Canada, I live in Venezuela. At the moment, I am in 9th grade, studying at Colegio International de Puerto La Cruz (CIPLC). This website was created for the poetry unit that is currently being covered in our Language Arts class, as well as the web design project that is being done in Computers. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, e-mailing people, roller-skating, playing roller hockey, and playing soccer.
