| Women IN God's Shadow of Love |
WINGS of Love was establixhed in 2005. We wanted a name that was peculiar to our group. We were still Phoenix Evening Aglow but we started meeting in my home and decided we wanted to establish a Neighborhood Lighthouse. The Lighthouse concept afforded us more freedom in ministry. We are still Phoenix Evening Aglow and are known by both names. We know that we are privileged to take refuge under the shadow of God's own wing and there we find love, security and a sense of belonging. In that love we rest we rest secure that He is a constant source of blessing and direction in our lives. . We wanted to reach out to other women with this same love. So in 2005 we sponsored two retreats and two mini-retreats. In these retreats we used our own women to speak and teach. Not only were we interested in reaching out, but building up each other in the this most holy faith. So many times women are not able to use their giftings in our church settings so we provided opportunities for many to minister and receive of the Lord. The emphasis of our ministry is in teaching women that they can hear the voice of God. When we can hear His voice our pathways will be straighter and our lives supported with a never ending sense of Father's love for us. When we have cemented that into our spirits that Father loves us and talks to us, we can accomplish anything by the power of His love through the Holy Spirit working in us. These are times when we need to be able to hear His voice and know that we are uniquely formed and made to receive His love. He desires to have fellowship with us on a continuing basis; moment by moment, day by day, glory to glory.... These are the scriptures that inspired our name.... "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Psalms 91:1-16 |

| The moment Jesus came up out of the baptismal waters, the skies opened up and he saw God's Spiritit looked like a dovedescending and landing on him. And along with the Spirit, a voice: "This is my Son, chosen and marked by my love, delight of my life." Matthew 3:15-17 (The Message Bible) _ |
