"Unless the Lord had been my help, I would soon have dwelt in [the land where there is] silence.

When I said, My foot is slipping, Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, held me up.

In the multitude of my [anxious] thoughts within me, Your comforts cheer and delight my soul!"

Psalms 94;17-19  (The Amplified Bible
)

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

Colossians 3:23-24
(New American Standard Bible)

When I considered how I should start this segment about REVDLJ, which is me on line, it was not hard to do...I knew it would start with Psalms 94:17-19.  This is my favorite scripture because it tells me no matter the circumstances, even when I am not okay, God still loves me.  And just by knowing that fact, I am encouraged and my soul finds its delight in Him.   For years my favorite theme seemed to be to know and be known of God is the greatest gift life has to offer.   I have moved beyond that into being loved by God is the greatest gift life has to offer.  For many years I had a lot of head knowledge which made me think I knew God...the older I get the more I know that I will never know God and I am now content that He knows me.  Now I could preach right here, but I will not.  lol

Colossians 3:23 would probably be my watchword.  I have sought to do things heartily for the Lord.  I have seen in the last few years that...a lot of the things I might have done  were for me and not necessarily for Him.  You must know by now that I am honest with my feelings.  I am direct and I have no problem admitting when I am totally wrong.  Which I have been known to be on more than a few occassions.  I can hear many of you laughing now.

To get down to the most important things in my life.  You can see by my picture above that I am married to Doug, he is the good looking one on the left.  This picture was taken on a cruise we went on for our 35th wedding anniversay.  We were re-wed in our back yard with three of our children present and their wives or boy friend and four of our grandchildren and about 75 friends and extended family.   We have eight grandchildren all together.  We have three sons and a daughter.  Of course they are all brilliant and extremely attractive like their parents.  Again lol.

I attended Grand Canyon University as well as my husband.  He got his Bachelor's degree there, I got three children.  But I did manage to squeeze in thirty hours of Biblical Studies.  It was many years later before I went back to Bible College at Sweetwater and recieved my Ministerial Theology Degree in 1994, and my Bachelor's of Theology in 1995.  I wrote a 50,000 word thesis for my Bachelor's on Hebrews and taught in the college for two years.  I was licensed to preach during that time and was involved mainly in Women's Ministries.

In 1996, I was called as Music Minister to Powerhouse Church.  We were there about two years as Associate Pastors.  My husband and I were both ordained there.  My husband also holds ordaination papers in the Southern Baptist Church.  We then went to the Church of the Living Messiah as Associate Pastors, I taught Leadership Training and did the Music.  From there we went to Believer's Family Fellowship and soon became the Youth Leaders there.  We were at Believer's Family for three years.  We now attend Intimacy With Jesus Church.

I went back to school in 1997 and received Certification in Aging Services and Management at Phoenix College.  I managed an Adult Day Health Center and have since moved on to work with the Severely Mentally Ill for the last seven years.  I recently recived my Certification as a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Practitioner.  I am currently a Project Developer of a Volunteer Corps working with the mental health Community.   I love my job, I cannot imagine having a better one.  I consider it a ministry.  I oversee volunteers for different faith based ministries as well as secular non profits.  We do everything from feeding the homeless daily at St. Vincent De Paul to teaching Computer Courses and helping with major Walks and Conferences.  We help wherever we are needed, we even helped with the Katrina Relief Effort, we pass out bottled water to the homeless twice a week, we work with an after school children's program and drop in centers.  We supply volunteers for Adult Day Health Centers and Senior Centers.  I oversee approximately 50 activities a week in our community. We have had over 560 wonderful Volunteers and eight hard working Team Leaders out in the community giving back over the four years since we started this program.  It is a ministry.  We are the only program of its type in the United States.

You may be asking how does this fit in with Aglow.  Actually I started speaking in Aglow about 9 years ago.  I then helped start Phoenix Evening Aglow as a Vice President to Helen five years ago now.  I became the President three years ago.  It has been my privilege to grow under the  Area Team's  leadership.   I also lead Praise and Worship for the Paradise Valley Aglow.

I was truly blessed to be a part of the General Conference Team for the 2004 National Aglow Conference here in Phoenix.  I served as the Pastor's Liaison Committee Chairman.  That was my first Aglow Conference and it was the experience of a lifetime.

Because we are a Neighborhood Lighthouse we meet in my home for our meetings. I have a large Arizona Room out back we meet in that is ours.  We also have meetings in Surprise  and  Prescott Valley once a month.  We have just recently been involved in supplying water to the homeless.  It is really hot out here in Phoenix in the middle of the summer.

I have developed this site in the hopes of reaching more women and men for Christ.  We now have Men's Aglow meetings.  I also have done and still do meditations on line.  You can read about my meditations in the meditation section.

I am praying that you will enjoy your time here in the site and that you will come back often.  We care about your needs.  We will have a prayer line up soon or you can send me emails and you will be put on a prayer chain.  We believe in miracles, because we serve a miracle working God!  I am always available on line in the evenings if you need prayer.  I am on the MSN messenger under revdlj.  God bless you, may He surround you with His love, quicken you with His Spirit, and move you out in peace!

If you know me, then you know that I like to think that we should all be dancing our salvation!  Its time!  Its past time to honor the Lord with our whole heart, might, mind and strength!  Pick up a tamborine, fly a flag, spin in circles...get His attention and let Him know it is your joy to worship Him!  Don't let the rocks praise for you!!!!

Ephesian 4: 1-6

(The Message Bible)

" 1-3In light of all this, here's what I want you to do. While I'm locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walkbetter yet, run!on the road God called you to travel. I don't want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don't want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and disciplinenot in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.
4-6You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness.
