paintings, a 14th century artwork titled Vanity
bears the image of a naked woman holding a mirror
in her hand through which she looks at herself,
making it appear that it is not only the (presumably
male) spectator who is taking pleasure from her

in the 97th General Commencement Exercises held at the
University Amphitheather on April 27. Towards the end
