Maow companions: His oldest maow is a cavio named Julia; the others are all kokot off-shoots that have joined him under various circumstances, mostly as he was able to help them cope with their transitions: a water-element female named Wynne and a thunder element male nick-named "Cable." A normal earth-element kokot was also raised by him as a pet, and will often accompany him in his field research, though cannot travel with him (uses a recall gem).
Family: His parents and sister (Saria) are all field researchers as well; Dr. Blackwell was his uncle and thus Mace is his cousin. He knows, of course, that Dr. Blackwell co-created the kokot, and so he is studying them in the field.
