Maow companions: A mated pair of falconi roost as his friends in one of the tall towers, and both consent to saddles and riders. A drakling, aptly named Draken, is also rideable, and is his most trusted friend. A local kaio inhabits the waters near the lodge whom Zeck has nicknamed Waterwings has consented to be bound to his gem, as well as a manto named Grainsurfer and a small, water-element faerie-dragon. A moloss, a younger falconi, a marigull, and an elder Saturnii are also bound to his gem.
Family: His parents are simple farmers in Diamond's territory, and his younger brother, at 16, is looking ahead to a farmer's future as well. The family accepts Zeck's lone-ranger lifestyle and love of the sky and birds, knowing that Zeck is working hard to maintain the trail lodge and keeping travellers safe.
