The best time to visit Panagyurishte is the spring season (from April to June), when besides that the nature is awaken and everywhere is green and the trees are blooming, it is the peak of the festival season, and it is worth to visit these celebrations. The events starts in the week before Easter, and for 3-4 days the center of the town transforms into one big fair, as the climax comes in Friday "Good Friday", when at the city center there are hundreds of retailers and small restaurants, which offer traditionally made “kebarche” (grilled meat balls), fried potatoes and bear. Furthermore, there are ranges and the favorite for all children attractions – wheels, trains, carts etc

The month of May begins especially festive for all townsfolk of Panagyurishtein honor of the April Uprising of 1876, each year in the evening of May 1, there is a festive gathering at the center and people, many statesman, politicians and tourists are coming to watch the specially dedicated concert and fireworks. On the next day the celebration continues at the place of “Oborishte” monument and there you may listen traditional songs, watch dancers and have a lot of entertainments.

January to March is when the town is least busy and in the hotels is easy to find rooms. But it can be damp and cold - between -11°C and  -2°C and if you're lucky – it will be snowy and the temperatures be around zero and this will guarantee that you'll spend most of the day skiing at Panagyuriski kolonii.
