The village of
Panagyurski kolonii - 11 km north of Panagyurishte, is one
of the oldest and famous mountain resorts. It is situated at 975 - 1085 m
above the sea level and was established at the beginning of the century with
the main purpose to become a health resort for children. Presently there exist some camps for children and tourist
facilities on the territory of the settlement. |

village of Banya is
a balneology center, having also a
modern mineral water pool. The visitors of the municipality will find the same
conditions for the rest and treatment also in the town of Strelcha, that is 14
km away from the town of Panagyurishte.

For those who
wish to keep good fitness form in Panagyurishte: there is a stadium “Orcho
Voivoda”, where you may play football and do athletics. Besides there are
playgrounds, sports hall, and two fitness centers.
The
theatre-house-memorial, the “Modern theatre” and
“Videlina” Community center as well as the Historical museum offer a variety
of cultural events, which can satisfy different interests. The admirers of
literature and science can enjoy the rich book stock in the town library. The
tourist association “Bunay” organizes short tours around the historical
places of the municipality.
