PALS MEETING(S)
MINUTES 3-25-00, 4-1-00 Odd but true. . .you are not seeing double. We did have two meetings on consecutive weekends. Our first meeting included a special guest member, Rhonda, in town from the BVI, as she calls it, AKA, the British Virgin Islands. Unfortunately, two of our regular members had previous engagements and were unable to attend. The beers were mostly dark and we had smooth, imported cigars (thanks to Rhonda) to go along with the foamy swill. Rhonda also treated us to an untried Leini (of course, as Leini is her favorite), the Bock. Our senses were filled and the company was most enjoyable - life is GOOD! Friends from past are friends in present and cannot be replaced. We share history, memories of foolish days and youthful indulgences. Now we share a new found wisdom; the fruits of our labors; age stories; and the melancholy that comes with losing loved ones and friends. Ahh, friends, how I love thee! Our second weekend of beer club was almost a complete gathering, missing Heidi for the first time. The beers were new to us, but familiar. How many pints we have sampled, yet many remain . . .and many common to us! Keep these in mind as you stare down The Wall or other store shelves. We once again found it difficult to stay on task (rating, that is), as the drinking seems to be no problem. Eating goes without reminding as well. Lisa brought a fabulous dip she concocted herself and some sumptuous Italian olives. Joan brought the main course, Jambalaya, which several of us had never had before. It was delicious! Denise had her spicy tortilla rollups, which one can eat and eat. We had good conversation, and talked about plants, which is never boring! The children were along and played nicely together. They seemed to enjoy their time together. But alas, the eyes grew heavy, and it was time to break it up shortly after 11pm. Next meeting: April 29,20007:30pm (?) HOST: DENISE Hope to see you all there! Joan, we understand it's not a good weekend for you, but if something changes, we look forward to having you join us!
