Sandy came out today to help me rest for the guys as they were very busy staging all those beams. It was a busy day but the street is now clear of beams.

This is a picture of a scarf joint. Notice the lightning bolt design. Two tapered square pegs are driven in from each side and then four pegs are driven in from the top. Carter told me that when in Pennsylvania erecting a frame he took a side tour to see a barn that was erected in the early 1800's. He noticed that this barn had two beams tied together using the same scarf joinery. As you can see this art has been around for a long time.
Well, everything is ready for the crane tomorrow morning. It should be onsite at 7AM.
