"Cory is a third generation police officer. Her mother died when she was very young, leaving her father and grandfather to raise her. She is a very passionate, independent woman; and she is very conscious of proper procedure, making her an excellent choice for second-in-command of the Pacific Blue unit.
She seems to have had bad luck with men. In the pilot, she mentions a boyfriend who couldn't handle the fact she is a cop. Later on, one of her ex-boyfriends returns to stalk her. After that, she started dating FBI agent, Tim Stone, but gets a letter that he has gotten married. She moved on to a young guy named Doug. They seemed to have a good relationship until she got pregnant and he informed her he wasn't ready for fatherhood. After losing her baby and breaking things off with Doug, she and Officer Bobby Cruz started a relationship. However, it has since fizzled and she is currently single.
She is best friends with Officer Chris Kelly and was deeply affected by her decision to separate from TC, not wanting to be caught in the middle. She is a highly experienced officer who has proven herself again and again and succeeded in earning the respect of the new officers to join the unit."
