Istituto Comprensivo " Karol Wojtyla"
Castellammare di Stabia, Italy

Project coordinator: Rosa
Merolla
Have you ever heard about Karol Wojtyla? He
was Pope John Paul II, a Catholic Polish pope. He loved children and wanted
to instill peace and love among people. He met the most important political
and religious leaders of the world for talking with them and trying to
establish a better world based on love for God and for people. In the hall
of the school there is a big painting of Karol Wojtyla.
Our teachers always tell us about him and his great example for young
people.
The building is new and situated in the suburb of the town. It hosts pupils
from 3 to 13.
We can have Physical Education in the school gym and use computers in two
labs. The headmaster and secretary’s offices are downstairs. Upstairs there
is Rosa Merolla's classroom.
We go to school from Monday to Saturday. Lessons start at 8.20 and finish at
1.20, but on Wednesdays and Fridays, lessons finish at 2.20. At 10.00 we
have ten minutes break and we can talk with our friends and eat something.
Our subjects are: Italian, History, Geography, Maths, Science, Tecnology,
Art, English, French, Religion, Music, Physical Education.

C.P/Ramon Menendez Pidal,
Gijón, Spain

Project coordinators: Celes
Pérez
and
Maria Dolores Alejandro Montalvo
Our school is 75 years old and it´s called Ramón Menéndez Pidal.
The two floors building is situated in the centre of the city but not
too far away from one of the three main beaches we have in Gijón.
Downstairs there are the headmaster and secretary´s room. There are also the
classrooms for the infants students.
Upstairs there are classrooms for the older students, aged 6 to 12.
Classes start at 9 A.M and finish at 2 P.M. We go to school from Monday to
Friday. We do not have lessons in the afternoon.
Some children do come in the afternoon two days a week and two teachers help
them with the homework.
It’s very important for us that there is no school on Saturdays.
We have very nice subjects like: Maths, Spanish (Literacy), Music, Science,
Art, Physical Education, English, Religious education and the native
language of Asturias.
We have a computer room and a library and we love going there.
We have 25 minutes break every day.
We put a lot of effort in decorating the classroom and the hall.

School No. 2, Andijan, Uzbekistan

Project coordinator Nilufar Begibayeva
It is the oldest school in
our town. It was built in 1909.This is the school no. 2. It is a secondary
school and there are more than 2800 people who study there. At first it was
a gymnasium for boys. Then it became a hospital from 1941 till 1946 year.
Now both boys and girls study there and it is one of the best schools in
Andijan.
Andijan is the eastern city of Uzbekistan. It is the smallest city, too. But
we have heavy traffic there.
It is one of the industrial cities of our Republic and it produces much more
cotton than other cities of Uzbekistan. Every day there are crowded people
in markets, in the streets.
