Click here to see some examples Famous Stories Travel around the World Objectives: This project will give our pupils the opportunity to get to know their own literature better as well as the literature of other countries. It will also give them a reason to try to write well and a showcase for their finished work This project gives our pupils the opportunity to read, summarize and illustrate (drawings/artworks) stories for children written by famous writers from their countries. Our pupils would like to collect stories for children written by famous writers from different countries. We invite your pupils to choose a story for children written by a well-known writer from your country, read it carefully, summarize it (in no more than 400 words) and illustrate it ( 2 drawings/artworks made by your pupils). We would very much appreciate if you could send us your pupils' summaries and scanned drawings/artworks. We'll publish them on the project web page as soon as we get them. Stories are a feature of all cultures and have a universal appeal. By contributing our students will enrich the world cultural heritage. Click here to see some examples Objectives: We all know that a flag and a national coat of arm include colours, symbols and mottos that reflect a nation's history, geography and even the spirit of its people. This project will give your pupils the opportunity to get to know their history better as well as the history of other countries. Thus they will acquire a deeper understanding of their national identity. Learning the history of the flag and the coat of arm will help instill in pupils respect for their national symbols. Our pupils would like to collaborate with children from different countries and collect information about their countries' flags and national coats of arms. Here are some guidelines that can help you make the most of this activity. 1. Explain the significance of the coat of arms and flag's symbols and colours. 2. Have the flag and coat of arms changed throughout your country's history? 3. What do the current flag and coat of arms reflect about your nation? 4. Are any of the facts you learned about your country reflected in its flag and coat of arms? Have you included them in your description? 5. Did you learn anything new about your country from its flag and coat of arms?
We invite you to send us information about your country's flag and coat of arm. We would very much appreciate if you could attach a picture/drawing (.jpg) of your country's flag and coat of arm. All the pictures and information will be published on our project web site.
