The Therion History:

In ancient Sparta, warriors were revered as the means by which a civilization should survive.  All society revolved around war - their religion, in which Ares, the War God was key; their economy, which revolved around dividing the spoils of war; their family life, in which daughters were frowned upon and seen only as future mothers of soldiers and sons were raised to be future generals.  Into such a society the idea of conquest is as essential as air itself.

Following Sparta's defeat to the Athenians, several generals made a pact.  Never again would the noble sons of Sparta know defeat.  They would know eternal victory - even at the expense of their humanity.  These three generals - Theophanes, Cicerius, and Nicephorus - fasted for thirty days, prostrating themselves in the temple of Ares, neither sleeping nor eating. Sacrificing a captured enemy soldier every day on the temple of Ares. In their final days of such relentless torture, Theophanes pulled himself from the throes of a halucination to see a stranger sitting in the room. Theophanes asked what he sought. The stranger pulled a long dagger from his sheath, and used it to tear open his wrist.  "Your sacrifice pleases me." the stranger said simply.  "Now all you must do to ensure your sucess is - survive."  The smell of blood awoke something unearthly within Theophanes, and he launched himself at the stranger, feasting on the blood there.

Nicephorous and Cicerius awoke to discover Theophanes feasting on the blood of the stranger.  They too came and ate their fill.  In such a manner was the Therion Clan born.  The blood of the stranger, thought by the Clan to be the war god Ares, filled their bellies with an insatiable need for more - a curse they have passed on to every male the Clan embraces.

The Therion Clan is made up exclusively of males.  Easily the most militant of all the Clans, its members are fanatically devoted to their Clanhead, who is the eldest childe of Theophanes, Alexander.  The Therion have little loyalty to anything except the concept of war - they are the hired mercenaries of the Kindred World.  Therion soldiers have fought in every great battle in the modern era - for the love of battle runs almost as deeply in their veins as the lust for blood.

Alexander relocated the Clan to New York City following the second World War.  Here they find both willing acolytes and an abundance of prey.  Most of the Clan's income revolves around both its members earnings as hired thugs as well as such delicate operations as arms smuggling, and the training camps they conduct for mortals who wish to become the most finely trained soliders/killers in the world.  They have connections within the highest levels of various nations' armies, and have been used more then once by such organizations as the NSA, the CIA, and the FBI to perform assasinations, kidnappings, and other government spook work.

The Therion Clan has only one club that its members are notoriously loyal to - Nineteen Couches.  Here one can find both mortal men and Therion men taking part in what can only be described as the eternal orgy. Food is served as 3 great tables constantly, and each guest has his own serving woman.  In the private rooms above, Alexander has spared no expense at finding and providing the most beautiful and talented prostitues the city has to offer.  Side rooms provide such diversions as a shooting gallery, boxing ring, dance club, and a training room. It is truly a paradise for men, and is meant to serve as nothing more.
