Alexander Therion

Eldest childe of Theophanes, the Clan's first vampire, Alexander is a shrewd, manipulative man with the mind of a brilliant general.  Trained by such famous Greek philosophers as Plato and Aristotle, Alexander is famous for his ability to plan out an attack that ensures his Clan will succeed. Under his control, Clan Therion has never lost a battle they have initiated.

Born in 361 B.C., Alexander was born shortly after the defeat of Sparta by Athens in 371. His father and Sire had already been made a Kindred king by Ares and Alexander was brutally trained by the very best teachers available to him. Theophanes spared his son no test or training in his attempt to create a perfect soldier.

When Alexander reached thirty years of age, Theophanes Embraced his son and Alexander became a Childe of the Night. With his new found power, Alexander began a campaign of conquest never before seen. He was convinced to slow down and did. So, to satisfy his thirst for conquest, he discovered a human noble with a desire for domination. He tutored the young human and taught him all the secrets of war. When the lad came of age, he was to be called Alexander the Great. The vampire Clan leader used his own undead troops to assure the unbeaten advance of the Grecian horde.

The Kindred King rode alongside his protégé until the lad's untimely death in Babylon when just in his twenties. The hard fought Empire was broken up into four parts: Macedonia, Thrace, Seleucid and the Ptolemaic in Egypt. And in this division, Alexander began his globe encompassing enterprises. With the leaders of these nations grateful to the Kindred Lord for their kingdoms, he consolidated his power base.

Alexander decided that his rule must be done from the shadows of human politics. So, keeping his contacts, Alexander faded from the arena of human affairs only to watch and manipulate as was best for his Clan.

Every great battle fought by man has included Therion warriors. The first and second Punic Wars, the destruction of Carthage by Rome, the Battle of Alesia when Julius Caesar defeated the Gauls, right up to the modern Gulf War in Kuwait. Alexander was instrumental in seating Caesar in power after the defeat of Pompey. But when Julius claimed himself 'dictator for life', Alexander had him killed. It was then that almost fifty percent of the Praetorian Guard was made up of Therion.

Down through the ages of recorded history, Alexander Therion has had his hand in the affairs of mankind. Sometimes for ill and other times for good, but always for the benefit of the Therion Clan.

After the Second World War, when the last thing Hitler saw was a Therion assassin, Alexander moved his Clan to New York City. He has many bases all over the world but the headquarters are where Alexander chooses. So, high above the city, the Vampire King watches over his ever growing Empire. With the world on the brink of war, Alexander provides the humans with the weapons they so desperately want and soldiers to wield them. Terrorists, assassins, weapon dealers and other men of war make up the Greek Clan.

Keenly intelligent, Alexander recognizes that his Clan, while undefeated, cannot possibly hope to rule their world.  His men know little of politics, or the making of a Kindred world.  As such, he is content to play the role of Enforcer for the city. Alexander has little trust for the new Clans coming into the city, particularly the Di Nerezza. Alexander considers them Italian upstarts. They are not even Roman. He views Canio and his family as a threat to the Kindred society of New York and makes no secrets as to his true feelings towards the Di Nerezza Clan head.
