Hindi students adamant
Aizawl, Oct 17: In persuance of its demand for revocation of the appointment order of 78 Hindi teachers, the Mizo Hindi Zirlai Pawl (MHZP) or Mizo Hindi Students Association has vowed today to fight till the end.
Bringing out a press release, the MHZP said since their repeated pleas to the Education Minister have borne no fruits they intended to go on till their demand is met with. Alleging the appointment as purely political, the Hindi students said that the sanction order for this appointment had been issued earlier this year which however was delayed by the state government on some excuse of difficulty in post creation. However, the government appointed the 78 teacher at the last minute before the announcement of election dates.
The appointment was made out of favouritism, bypassing employment exchange.
Meanwhile, the government had stated that revocation of the appointment would mean many Hindi schools would be devoid of Hindi teachers since no new appointment can be made with the ECs announcement of poll dates. The Mizo Zirlai Pawl, who had also backed up the Hindi students has withdrawn their support at the govern-ments excuse.
While the govt. can cancel the legal promotion order of 8 police DSPs to MPS ranks why it cannot do the same to the illegal appointment of the Hindi teachers is another point of the Hindi students. 'We cannot understand how the Mizoram government could play politics with the National official language' said the disappointed Hindi students.
The MHZP is to organise an indefinite hunger strike starting from October 20 next. Standing firm on their point, the MHZP said, 'We will fight on till justice is done.'.
