MPCY demand gov't to return excess payment of power bills
The MPC Youth today said while they are grateful to government for its suspension of payment of power bills and its intention to review it, the government should also set matters right for those consumers who had already paid their power bills after the hike by adjusting their excess payment.
Bill payment suspension delaying tactic says MPYCC
The Mizoram Congress youths have accused chief minister Zoramthanga of employing delaying tactics in the power bill payment suspension to gain political advantage for the coming VC elections. They demand that the government cancel the power tarrif hike without any delay.
Mizoram gets most sports scholarship
A government press release today said among the states, Mizoram gets the most scholarships from the National Institute of Sports, Patiala. While 100 scholarships are given to other states. Mizoram 391 persons in Mizoram receives the scholarship. 20 National level scholarship receipients receive Rs 7200 a month while the rest receive Rs 5400 through the State level scholarship.
Eye trouble to be given special treatment
Sight will be emphasised for children below the age of 14 during the Health Festival to be held at AR Parade ground from October 22, 2002. Special preference will be given to children in this age category with eye trouble. Laparoscopic tubectomy will also be perfromed at the site of the festival.
MOs given training for TB control
Government medical officers are undergoing training to prepare for the training in Revised National TB Control Programme. Under this programme, to be implemented from Feb 20, 2003, TB medicines will be made available 3 times a week.
