M.B.I.Munshi 

He was born on 5 August, 1972 in the town of Kaliganj in Greater Jessore (now Jhenidha). His father at the time had recently graduated out of Rajshahi Medical School (1968) and was practicing medicine in various districts of Bangladesh. His mother is the eldest daughter of Late Mian Abdur Rashid a renowned businessman and politician of Pakistan and then later of Bangladesh. In July 1973 at the age of 11 months Mr. M.B.I. Munshi was taken to England as his father decided to pursue postgraduate studies leading to a FRCS degree. The entire family remained there (including his sister) together for another 24 years until Mr. Munshi returned to Bangladesh in November 1996. During his stay in London he completed his education including a postgraduate degree in law from the London School of Economics (1994) and then qualified as a Barrister passing his examinations in 1996 (Lincolns Inn – Called 1997). His family still resides in England where his father now practices orthopedic surgery as an Associate Specialist at the Queen Elizabeth II hospital in Hertfordshire. On his return to Bangladesh he obtained his license to practice as an advocate of the High Court in 1998 and is a junior to Advocate Khan Saifur Rahman.  He also teaches law at the Dhaka Centre for Law and Economics in Dhanmondi and is also diplomatic correspondent for the Weekly Dhaka Post. His articles have been published nationally and internationally and he has been a frequent contributor to several internet discussion groups over the last five years.
