Theodin was the 17th King of Rohan and the last of the line since his son Theodred was killed by Orcs. He was under the control of Grima and Sauroman until Gandalf helped him. After the battle of Helm's Deep he rode to Gondor and met Merry. He loved listening to Merry's stories and songs and eventually made him a knight of Rohan. During the last battle Theodin's horse became startled by the arrival of the Witch-King, and threw him into a stone killing him.
