Born in 2980, Sam was the youngest child of Hamfast Gamgee and Bell Goodchild. He was Frodo's gardener and one of his closest friends. His life was fairly uneventful until he travelled with Frodo to Rivendell, and then became one of the 9 members of the Fellowship of the Ring. He travelled with Frodo the whole way to Mount Doom, even trying to destroy the ring himself after Gollum betrayed them to Shelob. However he realized that he couldn't do this alone so he went back and also managed to save Frodo. After they returned to the Shire, Sam married Rose Cotton in 3019, and had 13 children, Elanor, Frodo, Pippin, Bilbo, Goldilocks, Hamfast, Merry, Tolman, Robin, Rose, Daisy, Primrose and Ruby, and was elected mayor 7 times. After Rosie died he sailed over the sea as the last of the ring bearers.
