Born in 2982, Merry was always a close friend of Frodo's, and he joined Frodo on his journey to Rivendell, eventually becoming a member of the Fellowship of the Ring. He and Pippin were captured by Orcs and retreated to Fangorn Forest, where they helped covince the Ents to attack Isengard. There he met King Theodin, and became a knight of Rohan fighting in the final battle against Sauron. After he returned to the Shire and married Estella Bolger, and was known as Meriadoc the Magnificant.
