Grima worked in Theodin's court as a spy for Saruman and poisoned his mind against Gandalf and the others until Gandalf came and freed Theodin from his control. Afterwards he fled to Orthanc and after the destruction of Isengard, fled to the Shire with Sauroman. When they were defeated in the Shire, Grima cut Saruman's throat and was immediately killed by hobbit archers.
