Malaysian Community of Lampeter has a very close relationship
with the Malaysian Students Department for the United Kingdom and Eire (Masduke).
This close relationship is proved with a Conference on Malaysian Study of Islam
which is sponsored by Masduke, and organised by the Community, in collaboration
with the Department of Theology, Religious, and Islamic Studies (TRIS),
University of Wales, Lampeter (UWL), where all the Community members are doing
their postgraduate studies.
The Conference aims to be a platform for Malaysian
academicians especially in the United Kingdom and from Malaysia to present their
current study related to Islam, since Malaysian scholarship in the United
Kingdom (especially through Malaysian postgraduate students here) has been
significant in enriching Malaysian understanding of Islam, where TRIS UWL is
symbolic of this enriched understanding. It will be held on 28th and 29th June
2008 (Saturday-Sunday), at The Arts Hall, University of Wales, Lampeter, College
Street, Lampeter, Ceredigion, SA48 7ED. Therefore, we invite all of you to
