Department of Theology, Religious, and Islamic Studies is amongst the best in its category in the United Kingdom. It is interesting to note that the University is the smallest in Europe but the Department is one of the largest. Theology was taught here from 1827, and today the Department offers courses in all the world's major faiths and in innovative related areas, in both theology and religious studies, and continues to grow.

Centre for Islamic Studies, University of Wales, Lampeter, currently is amongst the most popular destination for Malaysian wishing to further their study on Islam in the United Kingdom. Perhaps at present, it has the largest number of Malaysian postgraduate students doing courses on Islamic studies in the United Kingdom.
