Hair Do’s (and
don’ts)
By sabber_96
Did you know that the maximum length of
your hair is determined by the width and shape of your hair shafts.
Which in return is determined genetically and can not be altered by
current technology?
You hair grows a half of an inch per
month. Slower in the winter then the summer. Your hair growth may be
slowed by improper care, poor diet, amongst other things. BUT, you can
NOT speed up your hair growth! Plain old vitamins (even a childs
chewable!) may keep your hair healthy and growing. Hormones from
pregnancy can make your hair grow faster, which has nothing to do with
the prenatal vitamins. Illnesses and medications can make your hair
growth slow. Nothing can really speed up the growth of your hair, no
matter how good of a product they say it is! Cutting your hair
frequently will not make your hair grow faster or longer or even
healthier.
Hair is dead. If it was alive, it would
hurt when you got it cut. That is why you should chose a good salon
shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair healthy. Split ends can only
be repaired by cutting them off. If you don’t have split ends or
chemically damaged hair, you need not get your hair cut, unless you
want a change! Do not over brush your hair. That 100 strokes thingy,
its nonsense. All it does is damage your hair. Bush only as much as
your hair needs. Don’t use brushes or combs with metal teeth, or
sharp plastic, which could lead to more damage then good. Over the
counter shampoos and conditioner have harsh ingredient in them (which
can cause split ends and breakage), so spend your money wisely on the
salon products. Also, don’t constrict your hair with tight clips,
bands and so on that can also cause split ends and breakage.
Wondering what the in styles are this
season? SHORT! That and a striking color. Simple enough this season to
be in style! With my long hair, I am out of style, but to chicken to
get it cut off just yet! Maybe you can all convince me?
