Minimizing Mum's Buds
is all about us Mums supporting each other while trying to get
healthier! We know that it is hard, as a busy Mum, to take the time that
you need to keep yourself in good physical shape. That's why we are here
for each other, to cheer each other on, but never to judge or condemn.
Keeping
a Journal

Keeping a
Journal
A journal can be a great tool in your efforts to lose weight or get
healthier!
Use it for recording what and when you eat, and your weight losses and
gains. Also write down your thoughts and feelings, through good times
and the not so good times. The good times will support you through the
bad times, and the bad times will encourage you as you look back on
them, and realize how far you have come. Here are some tips for keeping
your own journal
1)Notice Trends
Are you having a little something oh so yummy but not so healthy at 3pm
every day? Keeping your journal can help you to recognize these habits
and do something about them. The next time that 3 pm comes around you
can make sure that you have a healthy snack ready, or involve yourself
in an activity that will take your mind off of your habitual treat.
2)Be Honest
Don't be ashamed to write down everything that you eat, or what you
really are feeling...your journal is for you, and you alone. Also, you
can not
really keep track of your eating patterns for helpful hints in losing
weight
if you are cheating.
3)Be Yourself and Have Fun
No one keeps up with something that they find to be a chore. Use your
own language and style when writing in your
journal...after all, it is for your
eyes only. Draw pictures in your journal, give yourself daily pep talks,
decorate it with stickers, include pictures of your progress...it's your
journal, done your way.
4)Keep Your Journal in a Convenient Spot
If you can't find it, you won't write in it. Keep your journal in a
place
where it is easily accessible to you.
5)Keep Track of your Progression
A journal is a great way to keep track of the goals that you have set
for
yourself. If you are having trouble in achieving your goals, your
journal
can offer you clues about where you are going astray. And once you have
reached your goal, your journal will be there for you to look back and
see
how far you have come.
