| Kindness: Students are expected to treat everyone with kindness and respect. Hitting, fighting, name-calling, and making fun of others will not be tolerated. |

| Library: We will go to the library once a week. See the schedule for library day and time. Make sure to return borrowed library books the following week. |
| Literacy Centers: During Literacy Centers students will practice phonics, reading, and writing skills while the teacher works with small groups or individual students. Parent volunteers are always welcome! |
| Lunch: We will have lunch daily from 11:00-11:25. The lunch menu is sent home at the beginning of each month. If your child prefers a packed lunch, please be sure to write his/her name on the outside of their lunch bag. |

| Math: We use the Everyday Math program, which incorporates many different strategies and games. |
| MOOSE Book: (Management of Organizational Skills Everyday) is a 3-ring binder notebook that is sent home everyday. No more wrinkled papers at the bottom of the backpacks, no more lost papers or homework, no more searching for paper to write the teacher...everything you need to stay on top of things at school. Inside you will find: *A zippered pouch for money *A folder for notes from the school *An important papers folder *A homework folder * A parent/teacher communication notebook *A snack and upcoming events calendar |
| Music: We will have music class with Mr. Brown two days a week for 30 minutes. Please see our classroom schedule for days and times. |

| Newsletter: I usually send home a monthly newsletter on the last Friday of the prior month to keep you up-to-date on happenings in our classroom. I will also post the newsletters on our website www.geocities.com/mrs_rosted |
