Engineering- A fantasy fullfilled!

I Joined BMS College of Engineering on Nov 11, 1993. The day of Joining was one of the most memorable days of my life as I had not even dreamt of joining an Engineering course in the first place. My lucky stars!, I was in the best college in the town!. Yes, I am proud to be a BMS'ite. I would want to tell others who are still deciding about which college to join for Engineering, Then My choice is always my great college.

Ours was the second year in the Semester Scheme and you can say we had some tough time during exams.Well My course of specialisation is Electrical and Electronicsl Engineering which still is The-Toughest-Branch in the whole range of Engineering courses.

First Semester came and before I bought the textbooks for the course, The final exams were already over!. We had a breather in Second Semester as we had some time to prepare for exams. Maths, Strength of Materials, Engineering Drawing and my own "Electrical Sciences" were those Frightfull Subjects.

Third Semester, we moved to our Core-Subjects, i.e, 100% pure Electrical and Electronics subjects and it was a different world altogether as it was 'Greek and Latin' to me. It really took some serious study to understand what was happening. "Electrical Circuits" was the hot subject and was an unanimous "Trouble Subject". Fouth Semester was like "Drought in Somalia".All kinds of problems started here as none of the subjects were easy and every subject was a "Bouncer" to most students. Nothing used to enter the Greymatter. Pulse and Digital Circuits, Maths and Machines were my toughest Subjects.

Fifth Semester gave some relief as subjects were not as difficult as the previous semester. I particularly liked MicroElectronics, Maths for a change. Life was kind of smooth. Then came Sixth Semester. Sixth Semester was Difficult to the extreme. Our seniors used to say that in Electrical Engineering you are already an Electrical Engineer if you complete the "Sixth Semester". As said, Lots of tough subjects came our way like Microprocessors, Control Systems, Communication Systems. Electrical Drawing was the only Lollypop subject we had.

Finally we were in the Seventh Semester (Year 4), Things were a bit "Relaxed" as most of the subjects were theory based and we were introduced to a Project and since we had to do this out of college, it was a great experience. My project Mates were Sanjeev and Sudhir. Power Systems was a Major Subject. Rest of them were easy. And then came Eigth Semester. Well it was aslo "Kind of Smooth". No problems anywhere. The only one thing that kept us reminding was that all of us friends had to seperate to seek their own lives. By the way we had one of the best project tours any of the Engineering students would ever want to have. We visited Raichur Thermal Power Plant, Supa Power Plant, and Varahi Power plant. We also visited Goa. The project tour gave us all time for all the classmates to come together and have a good time. Back to Eigth Semester, every thing went smooth and engineering course was comleted in August 1997. Overall, The best phase of "Carefree-Life".
