The
science
|
Fresh, raw fruit &
vegetables contains agents (vitamins,
minerals, enzymes, phyto-chemicals & anti-oxidants)
that aid our immune system & can combat cancer & heart
disease.
|
We are 80% water.
Water reduces fluid
retention & metabolises fat.
It
can also reduce fatigue and irritation.
|
Our bodies are designed
for regular, moderate exercise.
Exercise burns calories, makes our bodies fitter and less likely to put on
weight.
|
Stress is a physical
reaction to change.
Stress helps us react to
danger or take opportunities, but too much can
create health problems.
|
People need people.
Contact with friends
& family increases
happiness and reduces stress.
|
|
Do's
|
Eat more fresh, raw fruit
& vegetables & reduce "bad" foods (processed
foods, sugars & fats.)
The Food Pyramid has more details.
|
Drink several
glasses a day (and more when you exercise).
Reduce other drinks (or
drink water with them).
|
Start exercising slowly; build up from a few minutes to 30 minutes a day.
Always ask your GP, first.

|
Don’t do crash diets – most
diets do more harm than good.
Eat well & sensibly.
|
Try to avoid or reduce sugary
drinks, coffee &
alcohol.
|
Start slowly & warm
up. Don’t “go for the burn” - as you may pull muscles.
|
Don’t ignore stress or
try to cover it up.
|
Friendships can be hard
work - don’t give up too soon!
