La Pedrera
by far my favorite building!  the exterior has no straight lines or supporting walls.  some of the floors are actually apartments and watching the tenants enter and leave the building is an interesting insight into snobbery.  most of the apartments have either been in the family for many years or some lucky people bought into it - either way vacancies are rare and the waiting list long.  A tour of the building included an apartment furnished in the earlier part of the century.  down to the soap on the washbasin and fruit bowls on the kitchen table. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.  the roof is great!  great!! in the summer they hold evening concerts - La Pedrera De Nit.

Interesting tidbit #??:
I remember seeing this building in an art class once and since then have wanted to visit Barcelona for this reason alone.  What a treat to have my hotel right next to it. and lo and behold - you can see my bathroom window from the roof.  woo hoo.  tonight im going to flash the tourists!
