I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Arts Administration. 

NIU doesn't offer a degree program in Arts Administration, so I had to create the degree by developing a contract major. 

I went the three different departments (business, theatre, and music) and petitioned for the ability to take various classes. 

I had to justify the need for the major as well as for the classes the I wanted to take.

With the support of two advisors, I was able to convince all three deans and graduated in 1994.
